Soft Washing Vs. Pressure Washing: Which One is Better?

Is There a Difference Between Soft Washing and Pressure Washing?

These terms are often confused for each other. To the untrained homeowner it may seem like there is no difference between the two. But the truth is, there are some major ones. What is there to know about cleaning these cleaning methods?

The pressure cleaning method uses highly pressurized water that is sprayed onto surfaces at very high speeds. The pounds per square inch can range from 1400- 4000! The force of this spray loosens dirt from its surface making it easier to remove by rinsing with fresh water or scrubbing with an appropriate cleaner.

The soft rinsing method is a less aggressive process where you typically use chemicals to clean off dirt, mildew, algae or moss. It’s often used on stone surfaces such as brick or concrete blocks.

Is One Better Than the Other?

If you live in an area where there’s a lot of dirt and grime on the sidewalks, then pressure cleaning is something that you may want to consider.

But how do we know which method to go with? There are so many different surfaces on your property and so many different ways to clean them. Choosing the right way is vital to prevent damage to your property.

Surfaces You Should Pressure Wash

Areas that should be rinsed using this method are areas that are a bit stronger on your property. For example, we have driveways and sidewalks. These two areas are always being walked on so there’s no surprise that dirt builds up rather quickly, but luckily washing these surfaces will clear up any oil stains, mildew, and unwanted growth. Your sidewalk and driveway would not only look great, but it will be a safer surface to walk, run, and drive on.

Surfaces You Should Soft Wash

The roof is one of the most important parts of your home. It’s what protects you and your family from the outside elements! But, it’s also one of the most delicate making it difficult to clean. That’s why a softer rinse is used when getting it cleaned. You should consider using it on your roof at least once a year to keep everything free from dirt and grime that could potentially cause problems down the road.

If you have wood decks and/or patio furniture, then this should be soft washed as well. While it may be used to sit on and get a tan, the sun’s UV rays can cause damage to your deck or patio which could cause problems in the long run. By keeping these areas clean, you ensure that they last longer.

With all of that being said, you should keep these tips in mind when looking for a pressure washing company. Our experts know which method is better to use one each unique surface of your property. By keeping the areas around your home clean  you can make sure people will want to come by and visit which could lead them straight to your door.

If you’re looking for ways to improve your home, see why pressure washing is a simple solution.
